Fortnum and Mason was established in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason as a grocery that was known for selling quality food. Its headquarters, and upmarket department store is located in Piccadilly, London. They even have a location in Dubai.
I was not interested in tea until I visited London for the first time last summer. I ate at their restaurant called The Parlour last year. I came back to experience more of their wondrous tea at The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon restaurant.I drink English Breakfast tea often. I tried some new flavors of tea, such as the Jubilee Blend and Royal Blend. They are rich in flavor, and almost similar to the English Breakfast tea in my opinion. My favorite part about visiting Fortnums would have to be eating their scones and finger sandwiches. Scones in London are far better than the ones there are in the United States. The scones come with a side of cream and jelly. They have an appearance of biscuits, but a more firm bite with a nice, buttery taste. The price was a bit expensive. They do allow you to refill on all tea and plates of food, which makes up for the price.
I purchased this Mini Merry Go Round Musical Biscuit Tin. It plays a melody called ‘Carousel’ from the 1945 Broadway musical ‘Carousel’ when you twist the bottom. Inside are yummy macadamia nut and milk chocolate biscuits.
They have a number of different restaurants. Schedule a reservation at Forntum & Mason when you are in London for a true British tea experience (Here)!
